Hi
So i bought a female guppy last week that ended up having columnaris(the store has no garantee on their fish, won't be going there again!!!) and now getting ready to treat it but i'm looking into different meds the ones i've seen are: Furant, maracyn the problem with these is i have some shrimp & snail and i'm scared that it will be bad for them(by the way if i use one of these meds can the shrimp & snail catch the disease and if i tranfert them tanks will the infection follow them (don'T want to spread to my other tank)
and i also found these : aqua pro cure, revive that say are safe for invertebrates, is this true has anyone had experience with any of these
i will be going tomorrow to get some meds i have 2 lfs near me but not sure what kinda meds they have available, is there something specific to look for in a med for columnaris
Would apreciate any help, i'm really new at all this and never dealt with something so intense (got rid of ich once

)
really hoping to save my other fishies
btw my sick fishie is in quarantine but the only bowl i have has no filter, heater, it's the best i have, but i do change more than half the water daily
thanks

I've never heard of invertebrates contracting columnaris disease so probably not.

I don't but I would like to know the active ingredients in it. Could you please post them?

Furan and Sera Baktopur are my top meds for columnaris.

I have always treated it with Maracyn or its generic ingredient, erithromycin. Sometimes it will take a larger dose than normal.

But if it's contagious tru nets and containers, is this true of the water also how would i go about putting the invertebrates into my other aquarium without bringing the disease with the them & water

This is what i found about aqua pro:
Aqua Pro-Cure’s synergistic combination of acriflavine, aminoacridine and formalin are more effective than either individually. Aqua Pro-Cure contains no copper, no undefined extracts or other “natural” disease fighters. Aqua Pro-Cure delivers fast, safe, and effective results.

Furan and Sera Baktopur are my top meds for columnaris.

Thanks for all your help Lupin
Off to the store hopefully they will have something good to save my little guys
very worried about my invertabrates & my others fishies

I've had good success with Triple Sulfa (by API) for columnaris in platys...no damage to snails that I noticed. You probably need to treat the whole tank.
