Yes, its finally happened, an outbreak of Ich.....

Going to start treating right now using heat and salt method.

Any advice on use of this method with following invertebrates in the tank:

  • Amano Shrimp
  • Bamboo Shrimp
  • African Dwarf Frogs
I will be raising temp to 82-84, and am considerig using a double pronged attack by using medication as well...

I only have experience with amano shrimp, and they have no problems with the salt/heat treatment or with stuff like Rid-Ich+ (a mix of formalin and malachite green at half the normal dosage each).

Just a side note: African Dwarf Frogs are no invertebrates. Or did you somehow remove their spines ;)?

..."african dwarf frogs are not invertebrates"...

:read:

LOL....yeah I know...just that we tend to deal with them in this part of the forum otherwise we would call it "Shrimp" instead of Freshwater Inverts methinks...

Thanks for the reply and good to know they will be safe!!!!

Thanks!

:dance2: :bday: :) :) :)
