Treatment for Dropsy

Due to past losses and current paranoia from dropsy I was wondering if anyone could give me treatments for dropsy?

According to Gina Sanford, in the Aquarium Owner's Guide, there are no known treatments for dropsy, though improving or correcting tank conditions/diet may help. However, if it is dropsy due to organ failure(s), the fish will not be treatable. Sorry.

Hi Strider, dropsy is a symptom of a bigger problem. There are many things that can cause it, poor water quality, parasites, bacteria or a combination of them all. Once a fish shows that they have dropsy it is almost too late to do anything. I have had only 1 fish with dropsy and it was fatal, luckily it was a new fish that I had picked up and was in quarantine. I wish I had read this web page that has a treatment for dropsy before I lost this really cool looking chocolate oranda .
