In your nightmares.
Well I added a new plant to my tank... it looks a little like what we call "coontails" in local ponds. It's a central stalk with very light feathery fronds radiating from it. Also put in some ghost shrimp for my bigger inverts to play with (who says it's bad to play with your food?).

Long story short, I came home today to a mess... the ghosts tried hiding in the stuff (and they looked great there!) but my crayfish & crab didn't mind tearing the plants apart to get at them, and I also saw my loaches cruising through the mess and ripping off strands while picking snails off the plants. Now I have little strands of plant everywhere, stuck in my filter, floating around... and a couple hours after work tomorrow cleaning up.

Alot of this "hobby" is trial and error. Alot of the time I feel like I should have known better... (Homer Simpson style)
"D'oh!!"

ROFL! Hey, don't feel bad, my Cobalt's Lobster ripped up all my anacharis. I watched him and noticed he was actually eating it. I took that as a clue that maybe he was either just hungry or lacking veggies. I started throwing veggies in with his regular food and now he leaves them alone.

It IS trial and error :)
