soo 2 weeks after getting my cabomba i've had an astounding 6inches of growth and its in serious need of a trim.

how do i trim it so it doesnt look like ive taken hedgeclippers to them.
you know how the tops of each stalk creates a pretty little dome. is there a way to trim them so it sort of resembles that?

also. i have some bamboo in my tank. that i now want to take out. and actually grow it. do i just stick it in some dirt? or does it grow in rocks and water?

thank you :)

I would definitely have plenty of water for the bamboo. I think rocks and water is better. I just cut my cabomba where I need to, it regrows to a natural look.

I always pull the plant out and cut off and throw away the bottom half (the part with the roots) and replant.

^-- that is how to properly trim a stem plant.

If you cut the top off and plant it then just replant the bottom you'll be farming =)

TWO tops will grow on the cut bottom part so its a good way to propagate.

interesting.
well all my top clippings went in to another tank....

i now have wayyyy more cabomba than i wanted. i have a feeling that these will all be going into the big tank in a short while since their max size is nearly 2 feet and it seems to be one of the only plants my jack loves. (he is currently "hiding" the the forest of them)
