Hi this is my firsy post

I have kept tropical fish on and off for many years.
I have just got hold of a "Tropiquarium 68 " that has been rewired by previouse owner.

At the front there is a lcd dispay and next to this there is a on/off switch.
I have removed the screw that hold this plat in position and looked behind to find a circuit board.
There seems to be a red and a black wire that have been cut and i have no idea where they should go .
At the top of the circuit board opposite end to the buttons there seems to be two white wire that have been cut, these have been rerouted to the on.off switch i mentiond.

Could someone inform me as to where the red / black go and /or supply a photo .
If you need me to take a picture and post up here then please ask

I have learnt tonight that it is a light timer. you can select when you want the light turned on and off. The information i am after is the battery voltage for the timer as it has a read and a black wire coming off of it that have been cut.

Thanks for looking

Well, it's going to be low voltage, so maybe try a 1.5v AA battery, connecting the red wire to the + and black to the - ends of the battery, using a bit of sticky tape. If nothing, try a couple of them connected in series to give 3v. It may need a lithium battery, for long life, in which case it can be an expensive case of trial and error.
