Ok I bought a container of those tubifex worm cubes, it says to firmly press them to the side of the glass...is there some sort of secreat to get them to stay there? I keep trying and they just float of and get stuck to the side of my filter? That or I try and press them back into place and the disinagrate? I've read that they are good for giving your fish so I'd like to do it but whats up with them?
Any advice as to where to buy live black worms, blood worms or anyother live stuff to feed my fishey? My LFS does not carry them and neither does wal-mart all I can find are earthworms and they are WAY to big for my fish?

Thank you,
Gin :D

I firmly press the cube to the glass on the tank. As soon as it starts to rehydrate, or a fish pecks it a few times, it comes unstuck. Usually it falls apart and the fish have fun trying to "catch" the worms. You just have to make sure you press it really hard to the glass. No big deal if you just want to throw it in the tank, fish don't really care. Have a great day!!

when I feed floating food, I cut down the filter a little bit. If your has no regulator, just turn it off for a few minutes until the food is eaten. This way, you'll not waste food and your filter will remain cleaner for more days.

About your live food problem, you cantry chopping those earthworms. I have a separate cutting board and knife just to do that. I pick some, cut them is 1/8" chuncks and feed it. If you do it really quickly, the fish will eat it as it was still alive.

Bleh, says that on the brine shrimp package too, but I don't bother with it.

I've got a lot of bottom feeders that I want to make sure get a good helping.

I defrost a ½ cube in a cup of tank water and remove the stuff (shrimp, worms) with wtih a very small metal strainer.

Then I take the strainer and swish it backwards in my filter's outflow.

Stuff shoots ALL over the place and everyone gets some. Even the two or three little platy babies (can't believe they survived in this tank) that hide at the back in the Amazon sword plant.

I find that there is way too much food in one of those cubes of worms, so i just take a razor blade and cut up the cube and throw the smaller piece in the water, the fish will pick at it until it is gone.

Well thanks guys, I will try turning down the filter next time (duh didn't think of that).
EWWW... cutting up the worms sounds a little gross, but (never thought I'd say/do something like this) I do have several cutting boards so maybe I'll try that.

Anyway, thanks,
Ginger
