Two New Feather Dusters (Green and Purple)

Your right. Our greens look very similar. Yours has a beautiful crown too. Did you add it to the tank?

yeah, I've had it two weeks or so.

How do you feed yours if at all? I give them some PhotoPlex (photoplankton) or whatever its called every 2-4 days or so.

Nice! They're so easy to care for yet so nice to look at.

Those are gorgeous! I would love to add one to my tank.

I also feed mine about every 2-3 days. I feed them live phyplankton. I try to spot feed them but I can't get too close or they close up. So I release the phyplankton right by them. Although, they really love when I clean the tank. They like to come out and try to catch all the particles that float around.

Thank you :) I would definitely recommend them for a reef tank (maybe a fish only tank as long as you don't have any fish that may view them as snacks). As stated a couple of posts above they don't require much. Just a nice spot in the tank with a little flow and some phyplankton every once in a while. Some people don't even feed them phyplankton but its usually a good idea to add it if you have a small or young tank.

Love them FD. Wish I could get different colours other than brown!!

Thanks :) Don't worry. I had a hard time searching too. Its really a hit and miss.

Out of the 10 petstores I have visisted
9/10 had banded browns (most common)
5/10 had solid milky brown
3/10 had banded dark purples
1/10 had the small true greens/yellow

awesome one u got there.

I was at the store the other day and they had a bright red featherduster. It didn't even look like a regular FD. it looked more like a cush ball. remember those little balls with all the plastic hairlike things on them that you used to throw at other peoples faces when you were a kid. the feather duster looks like one of those. it was the wild. The tube for this featherduster was SO big. it was actually kind of gross and it takes alot for me to find something gross in this hobby. lol. the feather colors were awesome though.
