I think it looks pretty good, with one exception. I personally don't like colored substrate (unless black and/or white could be considered colored). Of course, that is totally a "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing. Other than that, I think you've done a nice job.

Agree--I like natural, or at least neutral substrates, and live plants (but those fish would likely shred live plants). Think it looks good, and the fake plants add good cover for the fish.

I really like the setup. That gnarled driftwood piece on the lefthand side looks intriguing - is it a real piece or fake? Either way, I like it, very decorative. But, yeah, the gravel does kinda jump out at you. Very nice fish.

the driftwood is it fake?
it is fake actually. i got it off of ebay for five dollars. i love it. thank you so much. i actually wanted something different for the gravel, and i thought the red to be quite different. not something i am keeping too long. the more i look at other fish tanks, the more i like the natural. i never considered it before now though....kinda why i have the red. it use to be blue...i liked that too. next is the natural look though. cant wait...but thank you all.

Your tank is definatetly very cute.... but i say ditch the pretty colours and get a manly fish that likes to eat, sleep, ****, and make a mess all day long. I think you know what i'm talking about... an Oscar! A good sized oscar would probably beat the crap out of anything you have in that tank... no offense... i've said my part...

i actually did have an oscar. killed everything. he was alone. but that was years ago. they are just too aggressive for my taste. they are pretty though. he got pretty big. if i can find a pic to scan maybe i will post for you. but thank you for the compliment. i really appreciate it.
