55G has these:

3 Rams - 2 Gold and 1 GBR
3 Gouramis
1 Angel
1 Swordtail
5 Platty
5 Zeba Danios
6-7 Corys (too fast to count)
1 Bala Shark (currently trying to find a new home)

20G has these:

4 Tiger Barbs
3 Serpae Tetra
3 Head and Tail Light Tetras
3 Scissortail Rasbora

Am I alright with these? All suggestions welcome. Thanks.

In the 55, what type of gouramis? Most will become territorial and aggressive with their own kind. And depending on the species, there may be potential problems with the angel/gourami mix as well. And the bala will most definitely need to be rehomed, so keep working on that!

Tiger barbs are serpaes are nippy, the barbs in particular. Therefore its best to keep a large group to establish a pecking order. Otherwise they will terrorize the tank. Also you have 4 different types of schooling fish, which prefer larger groups than you have. I would choose one of the types you have and fill out the rest of the tank with other species.

it would probably be a good idea to take back the bala shark and move the head and tail lights and the scissortails over to the 55. that way you've got enough room for schools of both.

the tigers should probably go back too, because a 20 gallon does not provide enough room for a proper school. tiger barbs should be in groups larger than 6, because 6 really isnt enough for a good pecking order.

I believe the gouramis are opaline. Would it be okay to move the tigers and the scissortails to the 55?
