Currently in my 75 gallon I have 2 small bloodparrots and I have a small (6 inch) Uaru and some redhump geophagus that I am "growing out" for a friend. Once they get large enough for his 250 gallon(the geophagus and uaru) they will go back with him. I have fallen completely in love with the Uaru. Such a sweet personality. Well....he says if I really want to I can keep the Uaru. Here is the question: Could it live comfortably in a 75 with 2 blood parrots and 3 clown loaches or is that just too small a tank for him when he reaches his maximum size? I think the behavior of the redhump geophagus is fascinating as well...could this be a species that could be added to my tank as well??
It seems like the stocking options on this tank really hasn't been in my control! LOL. The blood parrots were a gift to my daughter for her bday....the clown loaches I rescued from an un-informed friends 5 gallon tank...the geophagus and uaru belong to Tim. It started out as a platy tank
But I am really enjoying these larger fish.
The total of the tank when everyone gets back to their "homes" will be
75 gallon (completely cycled btw..0ammonia 0 nitrite,10 nitrate, ph7.2)
2 bloodparrots
3 clownloaches
3 boesmanni rainbowfish (currently getting some size on them in my 40 gl)
I would like to add the uaru if he would be comfy or would it be maxed out as is?
Thanks to all....I am seeing a cichlid only tank in my future.
