Hey I moved into Dorm Rooms when I was 29. :) So do not be afraid, its a great time to go to school. You got your S together and you know what you want. So do it and have a great time and meet some wonderful people.

by the way, I had an 85 year old man in one of my classes taking Spanish, he was also taking first year french as well.

i am going to some continue learning courses!!!! i cant belive i am doing this again!

I've had three men over 65+ in my classes, last semester I had an Ed. Psych class with an exlawyer and his wife (and coincidentally their 7 year old daughter who was allowed to tag along), a 40ish year old in a freshmen level mythology class... and many others who were "older". Secondary education is very much an all ages thing. Sure, most people go straight out of high school, but many don't. I say more power to you.

If it is a traditional "continuing learning" set up (rather than, say, a fullblown 4-year university), you may likely find you'll be among the youngest of students. In my hometown, the continuing ed students at the Center for Lifelong Learning were much older than you, as a rule. They were frequently people in the middle of a career change, or were just interested in learning more, or had children and couldn't attend college at a more "traditional" time.

Do you know what it is about going back that you're scared of? No doubt it's looking silly, stupid or old. I went back at 28 and again at 49. I'm 52 and still in school. Finishing up this Spring on my 3rd degree. Lemme tell ya, everyone is scared at first or starting again. Even the younger folks. You'll get more comfortable with it as you get back in the groove :)

Anything I've ever done that ultimately was worthwhile initially scared me to death. --Betty Bender
