Unknown cichlid

Interesting...kind of has melanochromis johanni 'colur scheme' but with the coloring of a melanochromis auratus which is starting to mature.

I don't know though - hopefully someone can give you a better steer.
 
Is that blueish tinge in the pic just the camera/lighting or is it on the fish ?
 
It could be a maturing Johanni, how big is the fish? they start yellow but males start turning blue as they get older. I think the over all shape suggests melanochromis johanni and the color could as well unless this fish is full grown. Even then it may be a male trying to display female colors to "hide" from another male
 
See i was thinking a male auratus is what it looks like females and juvies start out yellow and the males start to purple up when maturing also this looks like the in between stage for maturity..
 
I had a look on a better computer screen - colour is a maturing auratus I reckon...but the head looks wrong albeit the pic is a bit blurry.
 
yeah...the nose is not pointy enough...but it could just be the pic.
