Do you guys have any idea what rainbowfish this is? It was supposed to be Axelrodi species from liveaquaria.com, I contacted them and told them they don't look like axelrodi rainbows, so they refunded me without revealing any info about this rainbow. The rainbow is grayish that it doesn't even look like a axelrodi. There are two in my aquarium.

OOO roseline sharks :D I've seen that kind of rainbow at my lfs, but all they had on the tank was " australian rainbow" which I highly doubt.

Its hard to tell with the quality of the video, but here are a few guesses based on what im seeing,

Melanotaenia duboulayi (Duboulay's rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia catherinae (Waigeo rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia kamaka (Kamaka rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia lacustris (Lake Kutubu rainbowfish)
Melanotaenia utcheensis (Utchee rainbowfish)

Can you get me a good quality pic, any distinct markings or colorings, keep in mind it may take a few weeks for the true colors or markings to apear, but get me a pic and i may be able to narrow it down for you

i doubt they are the australian rainbow the shape and length or the dorsal and anal fin dont fit, but i have been wrong before

These guys are pretty swift lol that's why I used a video instead but I'll try with pictures.

They have been in my aquarium for about 2 months strong already, and they remained green/gray/silvery. I feed them daily with a large variety of fresh high quality ken's flakes ranging from veggie, brine shrimp, spirulina, garlic & paprika, and tropical flakes.

I have a rainbow that plays color tricks that looks similar
album.php

The shade will change based on length of light period, plants, other fish, and it seems everything under the sun. With feeding him blood worms, I get a more yellow/copper look

And they are tough to get good pics of. Here is a site I was given to help.

I have a small Axelrodi right now that is less than two inches long and is showing nice color. They yellow up at a pretty small size.

Whatever you have there looks pretty large to not be showing more color. But who knows, give it a little more time and maybe they will color up. Right now they don't look like anything I've seen.

By the way, I really like your tank. I also have Rainbows and Roseline Sharks, and am very happy with them.

Thanks for the response guys. Anymore input?

Bump!
