Unplugged heater, how bad?

I was really tired yesterday and had to stick my hand in the tank to do some maintenance. After taking care of business it turns out I forgot to plug the heater back in (discovered approx 24h later). The tank, which is normally about 76 degrees, was down to 70 degrees. At first I just plugged in the heater but after thinking about it for a bit I set the heater from 76 to 72 degrees in order to prevent the tank from getting too warm too fast. From what I can tell the Corydoras aeneus seem ok (so far) they ate everything I had on offer (crushed bottom feeder tablets and tera-min flakes today) and carried on with their usual frenetic digging in the gravel. Just thought I'd check in here to see if this was/is the best way to handle the situation. Also, from my research it seems that 72 is an OK temp to keep corydoras at in the long term, if this is really the case I may leave the temp at this level in order to make maintenance easier when you consider that I heat my replacement water by mixing it with boiled water in a bucket. A lower temperature means less boiling. Any opinions on anything I have discussed will be eagerly recieved.

I cannot see why there would be any issues with this as long as you do not spike the temp back up too quickly and stress the fish out, gradual would be the best route to go as you have already started doing.

good luck,
