Unusual Dempsey Behavior

My experience with JD is that they change personality with age. They are fearless and most aggressive when they are jevenile, around 3 to 5 inch, then as they age, they mellow down. I used to have a lone male JD who reached old age and was so mellow that he never bother small fish, not even guppies. But when he was a jevenile, he could not tolerate tankmates that either he eliminated them, or I had to trade them away.

Theres a pic of my Midas. It is very similar to a red devil. Midas are said to be even more aggressive towards things outside the tank. I would definatly recommend one if you want a fish that is always out and chasing you around the tank.

go to www.cichlidscene.com and watch some of the videos...specifically the midas ones.
