Hello,

Im michael I just got into the hobby and i think im starting off good . Ill describe both my tanks and then post some pics

26 Gallon Bowfront. Got it new from Petco

1 aqueon 30 gallon filter
1 aquaclear 30 gallon filter
both HOB

100w petco brand heater

1 red tailed black shark
3 mickey mouse platys

65 Gallon Rectangular Got i used from craigslist with shark and crab
48"x12.5x25

1 60 gallon walmart brand fliter
1 50 gallon aquaclear
1 Penguin biowheel 20 gallon filter
(pictures dont show the two smaller filters


1 marine-land 200 w heater
1 100 w heater

1 7" iridescent shark
1 Fiddler crab

I got the big tank off craigslist i know i have 3 HOB filters on it but i plan to get a large canister filter for it when i get the money also get one for the 26 gallon when i can.

Please tell me what you think they are both new and plan on trying to sell the iridescent shark when i can dont really like how much he/she eats.

Just got an awesome gift from the wife she bought me 2 brand new canister filters both fluval one 405 and one 305 shes awesome huh hope it does not take to long to get them

Question I have is reading what i currently have on my two tanks should i leave any of my current HOB on the tanks or not. I do plan on leaving one running for when i need to use my Hospital/quarantine tank.

id ditch the HOB. I hated mine, and was so glad when i got a canister. They create too many microbubbles for my liking

You don't need the hobs but it would'nt hurt to keep one on each tank. The extra filtration is always nice and it's good to have a redundant filter if something goes wrong or you want to set up another tank.
I run both a canister and an hob on mine.

Cool tanks. I would keep the hobs either in the tank or in you basement. You never know when you'll need one.

I forgot to ask where did you get the red tailed shark? I have one and i want another.

Just don't put two in the same tank. They don't like their own kind or similar looking fish much either.
