Thanks for sharing your tank. looks nice thus far. I too have some red ludwigia in my bichir tank.

Bowls are fine for bettas as long as the there is a 50% WC once to twice a week. They come from shallow rice paddie puddles. Jumping from puddle to puddle to mate and as they dry up. Great jumpers yet ive never heard or seen one jump outta bowl?

Just because thats where they come from doesnt mean that will make them happy? Its just boring for them not to have places to explore. and if I hold my finger above betta tanks they can jump high!
