i just purchased a sea urchin along with 4 turbo snails for my 55 gallon to start off my CUC. i intended to purchase a cucumber and the snails but they were sold out and my retailer told me that urchins are great at helping control algae. any advice on care and feeding requirements(if any) would be great.
BTW im not exactly sure what kind of urchin it is. its purple and the "core" has purple dots of different shades. the spikes are semi-thin (not needle thin and not pencil thick) about the size of the little plastic tip on shoelaces (only comparison i could think of).
The spikes atart dark purple and get lighter.
