I just noticed that my golden angelfish has something dangling from where it would poo. Please help me identify it and help me treat it?!
It's body is also a bit swollen and the lump sort of looks like guts or it's heart, maybe a tumor of some sort?
Could it pose a threat to the other fish in the tank? (another angel, 11 corydoras aenus?)

It looks like it's intestines have somehow come out of it's body. I have never seen it to this extent so I have no clue how to treat it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

Good luck!

Although never have experienced such myself so no realted comments but I believe there were other postings related to similar symptoms.
SubRosa may had some info/treatments. Perhaps someone can find related postings.

some fish mostly saltwater but some fw get rid of their guts when exposed to VERY harmful toxin levels

Well I don't think that it's been exposed to any toxins? It looks like a prolapsed rectum according to Google Images.

Apparently it's fairly untreatable. :(

I would bet its very uncomfortable, as well. You might be able to do something if you can relieve some swelling? I don't know how you do that in fish. If you can get some kind of anti-inflammatory, it may correct itself. I know that in people, such problems are addressed physically. You literally just have to 'turn things right side out' again and sometimes surgically tack them in place. Obviously, that's not really a service offered to fish. You said the body looks swollen? My instinct would be to quarantine, and treat for impacted digestion and swelling... however you might do that.

I honestly don't think that it would survive the stress of moving to the QT tank. But I cannot get out to get any medicine for awhile as I'm very busy. Thanks for all of the suggestions but I dont think that it will make it.
