New England Abroad.
Fishkeeping has been around for a relatively short while. During that space of time, however, we've found some great applications for everyday objects just laying around our homes. Let's make a list!
 I wonder how many we'll get up to?
here, I'll start:

Use #1) You can use pot scrubbers are filter material.

Use #2: A turkey baster is great for getting leftover food and waste out of small tanks.
Use #3: Turkey baster is also good for spot feeding problem eaters. :)

#4) You can use credit cards to clean the tank slices
Ohh yep...I use them for green spot algae. ;)

Thought of another:

#6: Unused toothbrushes are also good for cleaning algae off glass (better in small tanks).

Clay pots make good decor
I use an old spagetti jar to thaw frozen foods
I've heard of people using forks to weigh down their zuchinni slices...

Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser" sponges are awesome at removing hard water deposits and algae.
