using meds

Hi everyone,
I recently added a new clown loach to my tank and of course it came down with ich. I have used the salt/heat method before, but now have alot of plants so i don't want to use the salt this time. The product i bought has malachite green and for the loachs i believe i only use half does. The bottle says to add 1 drop per gallon for 3 days. So my question is does this mean to add this amount of med. everyday for 3 days or just to leave it in the tank for 3 days at the initial dose. Might seem like a stupid question but i just want to be sure. Thanks.

Is there a problem with using salt in a plant tank??? I've never had an issue with it. I do not have a high volume of delicate plants, but haven't heard any real adverse stories from anyone. I'd check things out but am pretty sure short term salt use won't hurt the plants. Short term being the key here. Meds are hard on fish like loaches, and half dosing IMO is about like shooting yourself in the foot and then wading in the ocean to see if it's salty.
