There must be an airaiter(sp) on that tap Is it a moen tap or a Price Phister tap ( looks like a Moen) you should be able to unscrew the screen on the tap and thread in the adapter, take a close look at it.

Didn't think about unscrewing that "filter" - I'll try that tonight. I guess they must sell some other adaptor that fits in the same hole that are longer?

The ACE hardware store where I got my adaptors has a wall full of bins with nothing but adaptors that fit the aerator threads for different types of sinks. Unless you have a very unusual faucet, you should be able to find one that fits. It will be much easier to use than hose-clamping your Python to the faucet everytime you want to use it.
