I have a sump tank on my 90g and want to add a uv sterilizer and a complete co2 system. I would like to know if anyone has tried this set up and will it or won't it work.
Water goes into sump and goes through a filter sock, has a couple very small chambers then goes to a refugium that is filled with lava rocks, ceramic ring, purigen and a bag of ammonia reducing chips. Now what I would like to add is a low gph pump that will be connected to a uv sterilizer. It will take the water from this chamber go through sterilizer and return to this chamber. The water would then flow to final chamber that has a much stronger pump that will have the co2 reactor connected and then go back into tank.
Anybody try this or is this way to much work and not worth it? I was just thinking that to get best results from the uv the water has to flow slower through it but my tank is heavy populated with fish and plants that like a good current.
