Does anybody have any experience with how well vampire shrimp get along with each other? I picked up two vampire shrimp a few months ago, and they have been getting along well. I have some driftwood with little caves that one of them usually hides out in. I also picked up a cave to make sure the other one had a place to hide out since they seem to prefer dark places. That was all working fine. After the larger shrimp's last molt, he had gotten a little too large for the cave in the driftwood, and he started spending time in the cave with the other one. I never noticed any conflicts between the two. The larger one always seemed to put the other one aside, but it never resulted in any kind of violence. For the past few days, the smaller one had been leaving the cave, in favor of the driftwood, and the larger vampire stayed put in the cave. As a result, I picked up another cave this morning and put it in the tank to make sure they each had a place. A little while ago, I saw the larger shrimp really going after the smaller one in the old cave, punching it with those large front legs with the claws. They seemed to settle down, but I picked up the cave to break them apart anyway. The smaller one appears to be fine, and isn't having any problems moving or anything, which is a small relief. I would like to think their shells can take some kind of damage.

Sorry for the long post, but, back to the original question. Does anyone have any experience with vampire shrimp behavior?
