I don't know if anyone here is a VR fan, but I went to see them last night. They were the headliner for about 10 other bands. I have to say that it was the best show I have ever been to see, and I've seen people like Clapton live. I'm going to try to go see them again in November.

Here are a few pics I took with my camera phone. They were sold out of pit tickets when I got them, so I jumped over the rail to get in there... :D Got caught once, but hey...it's only a rail...so I just jumped back over it. I don't know if you can tell, but I was pretty close to the stage.

Here is a pic of Josey Scott from Saliva. I wasn't quite as close to the stage when I took this one.

Yes I am very very lucky I was able to get into the pit section and yes he is god as far as playing guitar. It is funny you put it that way. There was this fine chick with glowsticks or something beside me in the pit and I was talking to her and to quote her almost exact words "Slash is the new golden god".

I will see them again in Birmingham Nov. 5, and I'll try to get some better pics and post them on here.

They are one of my favs, by far...but one thing I didn't like about the show was that they only played about half the songs from the album and they just ran off stage. They only played for about half the time all the other bands were playing. They did play Sex Type Thing by Stone Temple Pilots, and that was cool. At $50 a ticket, they should play the whole time in Birmingham.

I hope you can get close when you see them. I've never had so much fun at a concert.

Oh yeah, another thing that was cool is that Slash added a ton of solos in the songs. It was like hearing remakes.

He used to do that on the old GnR tunes, and it drove Axl nuts..

Wow, Corax, your still alive? Where have you been hiding?

I can see how that would drive a frontman crazy, but it was still awesome for the crowd.

Are we the only Velvet Revolver fans on AC?

geez i hope not. They are an amazing group. I just hope i can afford the tickets. Im already going to go see Metallica and probally The Tea Party at the end of the month. Man i need money lol

Nope, I don't like KISS very much. I do know someone that told me even if I didn't like them I would still like the show. Tickets for them are probably very high anyway.

Was that at Voodoo fest in New Orleans? If so, where are you from?
Yeah, it was in New Orleans. I would have rather went there, since they played there the next night. Only problem is it was a sunday night and I would have to drive back from New Orleans to take a test Monday at 1pm. I'm from north Alabama.

The Buzzfest was in Nashville, TN, and I'll be going back to see them in Birmingham, AL (about 2 hours away) at the Boutwell....unless they cancel like they seem to be doing a lot. If so, then I'll try to go see them in Southhaven, MS (about 3 hours).

*I just saw that you were from NO. I love that place! One one of my fav. vacation spots. I am originally from about 30 miles outside Baton Rouge, I actually have a sister that graduated in pharmacy from Xavier in NO.
