I picked up two tonight at home depot.
The plants werent as healthy as they were last week when i was in, but there were two plants that were still in decent shape so I bought them and got a discount because they were "dying" ...... I knew better.

I used to keep a couple of these when I was younger, and had a deep interest in carnivorous plants, but never had the resources to really keep them.... I may start keeping tanks/terrariums of carnivorous plants :)

I still have a couple of really good books on them that I borrowed from the library about 10 years ago..

Hopefully some water, and a couple of bugs will perk them back up.
Not having kids poking at them constantly should help too.

I gave the "almost dry" moss a good dose of RO water, so I'm hoping they will start looking better by tomorrow. one also had a nice juicy bug.

I love flytraps, the worst thing is when people force-feed them sprayed bugs or get toothpicks to see if they can trip the three triggers to close the mouth...

I used to have those growing in my yard in New Orleans. Go to the park and find pitcher plants, and of course, sundew.. Cool plants, I hope you can perk them up.

The traps on these ones are all closed, there was only one open lobe on each plant.... its from stupid kids sticking their fingers in there or feeding them dirt.

you only need to hit one trigger to close it.

I hope I can bring them back too, they are beautiful plants in full health, and will help eat the bugs in our apt :)
they both have new shoots starting, so the trick is keeping it alive long enough for them to grow in.

I'm wondering though, I know they go dormant in the fall, but will they continue to grow indoors, or will I have to wait all winter for them to come back?

lol i just got a pitcher plant and umm i forget plant. the second one is a thick leave low lying plant that has "grease like substance" that later curls over the prey. i never heard of it so it was interesting. those two were from home depot as well. and i got a venus flytrap from walmart.

i had a sundew plant that multiplied but a few hot days evaporated the water and thus dried up the plant.

good luck, are you planning to make a carnivorous terrarium?

Ill get a couple of pics later.

im still concerned with their health.

the hairs usually only take once that ive noticed, but this is the first time ive had one in 10 years.... I could be wrong, or it could vary by species.

they arent so great looking right now :(
