So...I've had a murderer in my tank so to speak...I'm thinking tonight while watching them it could be my male auratus. I just read that they can be very agressive to other males, but I don't have any other male Melanochromis in my tank. Are they just agressive period?

Yes it could be the Auratus as they can be aggressive.

Is this still the 55G tank you set up last year?

What other species do you have and how many of each?

IMO, Auratus are just killers of anything by instinct.
