Short and kind of blurry, but mommy krib took the babies out of the cave for the first time today. She stayed in the back of the tank by the plants, but you can see some of the fry swimming around her. My camera REALLY hates focusing on fry and it doesnt help that mommy krib, who was so photogenic when I first got her, is camera shy now that she's protecting her brood. Daddy krib has started doing his fair share too. Leaves mom alone when she is feeling overprotective, but otherwise watches the kids while she grabs a bite. They are both VERY gentle with the babies, it's incredible to watch.

WOW..the parents are indeed beautiful. I could see the babies! Cool video. It would be fascinating to watch the parents raise the fry. I never left eggs with my angels because of their tankmates, so never got to watch that. The only other I bred were my turquoise rainbowfish. They are crappy parents. lol I just let them spawn on the breeding mops then pulled them back to their big tank.

Wow..they are showing a color pattern already! Impressive. Completely adorable. YAY BABIES!!

Your Kribs are beautiful! OMG, now I want Kribs for my 40b,lol! I have to stop
wanting every fish I see:) The babies are adorable! What else if anything is
in that tank?

Thanks!

Tank is a 38 gallon. It houses 5 adult swordtails (blue pearl), some nearly mature blue pearl swordtail fry, 3 guppies (one in QT right now), the two kribs and their fry, and one male rubberlip pleco. Swordtail fry and at least 2 of the adult swordtails are going to auction soon. I want to empty as much of the tank as possible for when the krib fry get larger.

Kribs are awesome fish, I am very glad I have them! They are beautiful, have very interesting courtship behavior, are great parents, and are generally peaceful in a community (unless another fish gets too near its cave or fry). They are also very hardy and are doing well in my very hard, alkaline water.

A new video! They're out and about frequently now :D
