Video of Jack Dempsey Pair: Blue gene? Breeding Colors?

As far as I can decipher, both the female and male in the video are blue gene's but I don't know exactly what a 'blue gene' is supposed to look like. Also, I think this pair laid once way up in a the log they are over but I can't see that far back. I think they have breeding colors on too but that might just be because they are getting older. What y'all think?

there's no way to visually distinguish blue gene from regular JD's.

it looks like they are definitely in breeding mode. In that short vid they appear to be guarding the inside of that DW.

Yeah no way to tell if a JD is a Blue Gene or Regular. Your pair are deff in breeding dress. Look good too.

The blue geno isn't something you can see, all though people claim that jack Dempsey carrying the gene have better coloring there's no way to prove this. Your pair is defiantly in breeding dress good luck!

Thanks everyone! I meddled with the DW to get a better view and was able to see exactly 2 white eggs still hanging on. They are young still tho, their parental care leaves much to be desired.
