here's my happy lil 4" bifas. since i moved two small, scared, male nicaraguenses out of the middle of my 125g, he's enjoyed some extra breathing room. the first pic was without flash because he decided to sit still.

he's getting pinch of lfs generic flakes twice a day [sometimes fish meal type, sometimes the spiralina type], some sinking cichlid pellets, frozen bloodworm or mysis shrimp once a day, and occaisonally he'll beat everybody else to a nightcrawler.

i have read these can bloat if not fed a good bunch of vegetables, but other than a spirulina flake and pellet, he hasnt showed much interest in greens. if anybody has a suggestion on how to feed the veggies or what veg based flakes and pellets they use, i'd be glad to hear them.

I don't know that CA cichlids are particularly susceptible to bloat, but it is not a bad idea to offer them various vegetables to supplement their diet. What kind of raw veggies have you tried to use?

Also, I just wanted to see if you were feeding shrimp or plankton (I use freeze-dried plankton), as that can be a real color-enhancer.
