So I have my 75gal trop community planted tank that is understocked. I have a school of emporer tetras (5), a Royal Farowela, rubber lip pleco, 2 juli corries (4 more in qt), 1 Angelfish, 2 serpae tetras (i know they like to be in schools but I have also read they are notorious fin nippers, the two I have are not fin nippers and dont want to risk getting more that could be), 3 platies and 1 golden wonder killifish (had 2 but one jumped). The angel that I have is pretty agressive towards other angels but leaves the little fish totally alone, I had bought 2 angels at the same size (medium-large size) but the one I have now constantly attacked and eventually stress killed it so im not too inclinded to buy another angel. I also was going to add a school of 4 australian rainbows but they were sick and died in qt luckily. Could I get a gourami? (not a dwarf) Or a kissing gourami, which I have read can get pretty big and a 75 is the min size for them. I am also looking to upgrade my tank to a 110 tall in the next few days if all goes according to plan. Are gouramis compatable with angels and some smaller fish (smallest body size is probably the platies)

gouramis and angelsa rent a good mix. what about a festivum?

Well, gouramis and killis have the same tank area (top) so you may have problems between the two. However, barring that they *should* get alone with all the other fish in the tank.

I personally suggest rainbowfish. A school of neon rainbowfish would look amazing in that tank. The issue is that they only get 3in long.

You could also do some porthole catfish, they get to be 4in long and live near the bottom of the tank without being bottom feeders.

If you go with Gouramis, go with Pearl Gouramis. They are 4in long as adults and peaceful, though they may be stressed by an overactive tank (thats why mine died :()

Yea I want a larger fish not a school of small fish. The tank is pretty active on all levels so unfort I dont think the pearl would do great, otherwise that is my gourami of choice.

How about a blood parrot fish. They are quite peaceful and should leave everything you have in there alone.

Rams are really tiny, I want something big lol. I do like the blood parrot idea! I thought they were aggressive fish?
