Wow.Everybody has given an opinion, some on how bad a person Tupac was....some on how his life was nothing, some on how this whole rap game is dragging our youth down into the depths of hell. While some say in one breath how it's a shame that it's happening...in the next they poke and make fun. BUT...it is after all everyone's opinion!! I happen to listen to Hip-hop music, have since it came on the scene in the early 80's.If anyone has followed the music they would know it has went thru a DRASTIC transformation. It wasn't always about guns, money, jewelry, cars, and women. It was expression, telling a story about hard times(like any country, blues,or john cougar or bruce springsteen song) and how they overcame it.In this day and age EVERYTHING is different....I'm 36, and I know i did and said things back when I was young to my elders that was totaly dissrespectful. The individuals that rap now are simply talking about what they go thru and what they see NOW.It's no different from metal bands back in the day that the white kids parents thought were negative because their lyrics consisted of pcp, cocaine....you name it,they sung about it.Some were overdosing, commiting suicide...and the parents were tripping because their kids wore the bands shirts...went to the concerts...tried the same drugs did some of the same things...and why???because it was cool, because at that time that's what was in....the fad..the trend whatever you wanna call it.There's always gonna be something...no matter what.It just so happens that now rap music is spearheading the trend movement. Are people mad because it's rap music? or because stereotyping is being done and this is just how black people act...and where they come from? Dont get me wrong,I dont like it either...Hip-hop and rap music are 2 ENTIRELY different things. But because everybody and they mamma have jumped on the hardcore bandwagon..Hip-hop has all but been shoved out(save for kanye west,common..and a few others.) But it's the sign of the times...and with all the school shootings and killings, not to mention this whole Bush/Iraq/N Korea thing....It's only gonna get worst! Oh,and to answer your question...he's dead. And for anyone to think anything else.....well...you should join the group that thinks the same about Elvis!!!!! :dance2:

While I don't listen to rap (unless it's any old school NWA :D) I both like and dislike it. I like it for what it can be, and what it should be, but I hate it for the way it's portrayed on television, the radio, and by the way many of today's artists sing it.

So much of it has to do with image, that the true meaning of it is gone.

not only with rap music, but with so much that's coming out of the radio nowadays, whether it be rap, hiphop, rock, punk, alternative etc etc etc; where the first priority is image, then comes an attitude, then comes some catchy tune, and hopefully somewhere in there, you'll find a hint of real "music"...

Hey, but that's just me... :)

OK.. sorry for goin off topic!!!!

dead,, that's what I think..

i for one believe that 2pac is still alive.
there are just too many things surrounding his "death" that do not make sense. and just before the sept 6 shooting outside the tyson fight in vegas, 2 pac changed his name to makievali, which was his way of spelling it, after a guy who faked his own death. they also say that 2pac had a twin brother, which was false, afeni, his mother, gave birth to only one son on june 16, 1971, not twins. and so on. others believe the shooting was set up by suge night who was in tight with the bloods, where pac was rumored to be in with the cripts.
anyway, it is correct that he had OVER 200 recorded un-released songs at the time of his "death" that his mother now has the rights to
