I need my green water gone today!

I know that Algae-Fix is a major No No and can even kill your fish and shrimp.

What about Aquarium Pharmaceuticals products like Sparkling Clear or Accu-Clear water clarifier's?
Fish, Shrimp and Snail safe

Yes I know it will probably come back, I will deal with that then.
I got no big cash for UV or Diatom Filters and I'm not going to do a black out.

Maybe I should also try adding some Bottle Bacteria found in the pet stores to give just a little bit of help?

Have you figured out your phosphate and nitrate levels? Those are often responsible for green water phenomenon along with high lighting.

I would never suggest chemicals. I had a terrible outbreak of green water a while back, tried all the normal things (even a 5 day black out and nothing worked.) Eventually this is what I did. I put an airline hose in the tank and through the other end out a window slowly draining the tank, at the same time I put a bucket of clean water above the tank and slowly refilled with another airline hose. I did this all day and it cleared the water and I haven't had a problem since.

petluvr so in total you changed all the water in the tank???
Is that healthy?

other than a little stress the fish may feel it does not hurt anything.
I was changing water in my 10 qt .. walked away nearly forgetting that it was draining(I work on several tanks at a time)..:22_yikes:I remembered I was draining the tank ran in to check.. there was about 1 1/2" -2" water left in the tank.. the angels were on their sides...added prime and water.. no issues.

cept for me ..i prob stressed more than the fish.. they just swam around like normal.:shakehead:
