i brought a new filter for my tank just a foam/carbon that sticks to the side of the tank. it has a rate of 100litres per hour my tanks only 20l will this stress the fish out?

no it wont stress the fish out, and it might acctually not be enough filtration. you are going to want at least 200 lph for your tank.

It would help to know what kind of fish you have in there and how many.

200lph for a 20 l tank....that would make it like white water rafting!
im about to go to the fish shop to test some water and see what i can do till i get the money for my 5ft tank

1 bristle nose catfish
1 molly i think
and a snail or 2 that i cant seem to get rid of (eggs came on the plant i think.)

its acctually not that much. 400 or 500 lph would be going fast.

generally for HOB filters it is best to have at least 10x turnover in a tank
