Hello everyone, I have a 150 gallon tank, using 2 aquaclear 500 filters.
The water keeps getting cloudy. I've tried everything! I made sure the carbon was cleaned properly, cleaned the tank.

I really don't know what i'm doing wrong. Could it be the light? I'm using a triple tube striplight with 1 super white bulb and 2 actinic bulbs.

Please someone help me, I'm getting really frustrated changing the water like 2-3 times a week.

Thanks :)

Hello :)

It's a bare tank with 2 black arowana, 22" and 18"

It's been setup for about 3 years, just figure that this was a newbie
question. This just started happening recently.

Thanks :)

PS- Hey JM1212 I really like Blood Parrots also. Was planning to get 10
Not going to until I solve this problem. Have you ever seen King Kong Blood Parrots? You should check those out, I think you'll like them :)

get more filter or do more change. what do you feed them? come on now 150 is a large tank and need more filter for 22" and 18". not to be rude bro.

Hey :)

Two Aquaclear 500s are'nt enough? I think their 400 gallon per hour x2 so that's 800 gallons per hour. Is'nt that enough?

I hand feed them shrimp and I know it's not that either. I'm very careful when I feed them to make sure it does'nt affect the water. Also I cut them in very small pieces to reduce chewing time, haha!

dont add water clarifier. it kills off the bacteria in the tank.

your stocking could be the problem. a 150 gallon tank is to small for one aro much less two, and your going to need twice as much filtration. 800 gph isnt enough for a 150 gallon tank. 1500 gph is a minimum, especially with a tank of carnivores.
