hay has any one here heard of water lettuce?
I was told that that is the name. If anyone knows about it can you share any info on it. Want some for a 55.
Water lettuce is a pond plant that floats on the surface and resembles a softball size head of lettuce growing in a garden. You'll have to lower your water level and have some circulation across the water surface to keep it from getting burned or stuck in a shaded corner (at least that is my experience with floating plants). Nutrient levels in the water should be kept high for best growth.
I don't have to lower the water level and it does fine for me. The scientific name is Pistia stratiotes. Here's a profile of it with a couple of pictures.
