Hi everyone,
I am almost done purchasing all the equipment needed for my salt tank. However in one of the books I read it said not to use water from a water softener. I have a RO system purchased and was going to hook it up in my laundry room, however the water in that room is from the water softener. Any opinions on this? I use the same water in my 2 freshwater aquariums and haven't had any issues!
Thanks,
Mike

No problem at all. Are you going to running RO or RO/DI?

Running the softened water through an RO eliminates the problems that softened water presents. And softened water is easier on the membrane of an RO unit and won't wear it out as fast as the unsoftened water would have. Not a problem at all.
