water tested! nitrite help.

just tested my 3weeks old water.. ammonia 0, nitrite was way high.. pH was at 8.8 too.. changed 15% water already.

2cleaner shrimps and 1 baby occ.

is that the reason why my fishes died gasping for air previously?

Your aquarium has not cycled. So am I correct in saying that it is only 3 weeks old? When did you first introduce fish to the system. I would call your lfs and ask if they can hold the fish for you. And yes Nitrite at any level except 0 will stress\kill your fish.

I quite agree with that statement...You LFS shold be more than happy to just hold them for a few weeks...
