Ok I do plan to search around on the forum for other DIY threads on this subject. I currently have 2 Sliders needing to move out of their 10 gal aquarium. I would like some type of mobile pond because I live in Kentucky and our winters can be mild to harsh. So basically I will need something easily moved indoors in the winter. The Sliders were "rescues" and they have been in an aquarium for 5yrs now since given to me. I have put together plenty of vivariums/terrariums in the past and prefer to use natural surroundings (river rocks, sun dried branches, dead bark). I have looked around at Lowes for tubs and pond kits but this is unfamiliar territory and I dont want to blow money. Can this project be done on say $100 or less?

Try looking in an agricultural supply store instead. A nice stock tank can be used to house fish and I would assume it will work fine for your sliders. This is my summer 150 gallon tub that I populate with small aquarium fish each year.

Two hard plastic kiddie pools would also work. One for outdoors and then when it's time to move them inside, set up the inside kiddie pool and transfer everything inside. Nothing of suitable size for two RES will really be mobile due to the water weight. 100 gallons weighs 800 pounds.

The stock tub would also work but the kiddie pools are much cheaper... although not nearly as durable as a stock tub.

Even the black pre-formed ponds that can either go in-ground or above ground would work and I had one with the decorative curved bricks stacked around it on the outside, higher than the pond to try and dissuade predators.

If I ever had to do things on a temporary basis, the kiddie pools are cheap and easy... and the extra empty pool can be used when you have any kids visiting.
