Hey all. Time to play "Guess the Breed/Species." We adopted this creature, Sadie, a bit over a month ago, and she has been great fun for us and our other dog. One can only guess at the breed, though. Very long legs, skinny snout and big ears make her look a bit like a jackal/weasel cross. Just thought it would be fun to get people's ideas.

Nice pics Dave!

But, it looks as if there was a little "nip tuck" going on with the ears... Am I wrong??

Anything's possible with a rescue dog. If she has had cosmetic surgery, they didn't do a very good job, since her right ear flops over a bit.

Hmmm...definately some German Shepherd in there. Maybe some Weimeraner(sp) or greyhound? She looks like a highly intelligent, nice dog. It's always fun to make guesses. :)

I was going to say Shepard/Border Collie mix.

I would guess Shephard, boxer (because of the feet) and collie mix. When I was growing up, we had a shephard collie mix that had the same hair type and shape as her but the white feet throw me off.

I agree with the shepperd/border collie mix. How old is she? I'm a fan of mixes--she's a great looking girl!

She's about a year old.

It's funny, she was advertised as a shepherd/border collie mix, but she doesn't look like a BC at all to us. Shepherd, definitely. The legs, and her speed, make me think of a whippet, maybe. Face looks a lot like a dobie.

What makes people think border collie?

she looks like she is a mix of sheperd and grey hound...i have seen some hounds that have colors similar to the splothces shes got ..pretty puppy though!maybe even some austrailian sheperd in her from somewhere?

i would say definitely shepard mixed maybe with a greyhound...she might have some border collie in her due to the coloring (white chest, white socks) but i really dont see much of anything else that resembles a border collie physically. but then again, maybe one of her parents was a border collie mix.
BC's are stockier, shorter legs. and have a shorter snout.

my gf's dog is a heinz 57 too. they advertised her at the pound as a pitbull mix...we have no idea what with. she has huge ears like your Sadie that stand straight up. and her nose is long and she's taller than most any pit. but she has the muscular body of a pit and the strong jaws of a pit!

it's interesting how the offspring can look nothing like the parents especially in the case of mutts/strays. my stray cat had kittens last year. she's a grey tabby...she had 5 kittens: 3 orange tabbys, 1 tuxedo (black and white) and 1 grey tabby! we kept one of the orange tabbies, her name is Cheese. and no one believes us that the grey tabby is her mom. we already had one adult orange tabby, Macaroni. and everyone automatically assumes that Mac is Cheese's mom.
