Week 11: Trimmed the Cyperus helferi because it got infected with BBA!!!

Week 12: Ammonia:0 Nitrite:0 Nitrate:0 PH:6.4 Cleaned filters and trimmed out the BBA infected plants. Switched from Green Brighty Step 1 to Green Brighty Step 2.

Week 13: Still battling with algae. I placed a packet that according to my LFS will block my phosphate.

Thanks! I can agree no less. It's like watching the video of a seed growing to a plant or butterflies coming out of their cocoons. I don't know what they call the video technique that shows long periods of time in just a few seconds.

Wish i can still continue taking pictures :)

Your plants need this you need to add some ferts in the right portion not take them away. Hopfully some one who has a better understaning of this will chime in

Squall, what are your NO3 and PO4 readings? Sans blocker, of course.

budrecki Thanks! I don't mean to make you feel that way :(. I myself don't really know much about planted tanks, kinda learning along the way. As for the ferts, i'm using ADA products. Before this algae i was dosing ADA Brighty K and ADA Green Brighty Series everyday. Since the algae appeared I decreased the dosing to once every 2 days.

Mrditty and Roan Art, Ok I removed the phosphate blocker yesterday since it obviously will not work. I was just desperate because i heard there should be a certain ratio of nitrate and phosphate and since i can't raise the level of my nitrate i decided on blocking the phosphate :). I know that was stupid. Regarding the current levels of phosphate and nitrate. I still have 0 nitrate. I'm still waiting for my phosphate test kit coming from the US. I can't find one here in Japan. When it arrives i will post the readings here.

Thanks guys!
