I have there small snails in one of my tanks. What they look most like is ramhorns, but I have ramshorns in other tanks and these guys are much flatter, barely thicker than two pieces of paper and maybe2mm across--they are also mostly clear. Baby ramshorns are general almost round and brown, especially the foot. I can see 5 and three of them have a white foot. Is it just a ramshorn, or something else?

Those are flat ramshorns. They drag their flat shells and look like go carts. Dunno their scientific name :S.

Thanks! Are they as prolific as normal rams? I would like to keep them but don't want them to take over : /

They're probably Gyraulus crista (a.k.a. Planorbis crista).

The ramshorns the OP is wondering about are those ramshorns with super thin shells, and they look like they drag their shells behind them not upward but the shell flatwards.

They show up in aquariums, not as common as the "regular" Ramshorn, but not too uncommon either. There are so many different Ramshorn species though, it's hard to get a clear ID on them.

Re: DarrylR's comment: That's a good description of Gyraulus crista, according to The Internets.

In any case they have a stay of execution. I'll see how they go :) Gyraulus crista seems right as far as I can tell.
