i just helped my mom set up a tank for guppies at her house this week and there are a bunch of snails with no shells in it. i don't know where they came from, they are too big to have been put in there without noticing. what's in the tank: 2 small guppies, brand new gravel, 2 ornaments that have been dried out for...a year at least? unsure of exact time. and some duckweek. i know snails can seem to come up randomely but these ones are all shell less. so far there are 4 of them, various sizes.

I've had ramshorns lose their shells, they never lived longer than a few days afterwards. Not sure if yours are ramshorns though..interesting!

hmm..they could be ramshornsd. i wonder what would cause them to lose their shells.

The bodies look thicker than a ramshorm, or the ones iv have... these are really wierd!

Yuck!

I'm not sure what they are but if I came across them I'd have to set up a new tank... Maybe make a few bucks breeding them!
