Okay, so. I have one decent sized clump of hornwort in my 10g, along with a few other plants. Thing is, the hornwort keeps growing this greenish-bluish algae gunk on it, generally on the oldest growth of the plant. Doesn't appear to be growing on the newer growth, or really on much of anything else in my tank.

Ought I just cut back the plant so that I get rid of all this blue-green mess? It kinda looks like blue-green algae, but this seems to be the only place it's growing...

Yeah, wasn't too worried about the growth... it just seemed weird that it was only growing on the old growth and nowhere near the new growth

edit: how many times can I say the word 'growth' in a single post?

If you want to get rid of the green-blue algae, just dose with Seachem Flourish Excel. It will be good for the plants, and the algae will waste away to nothing.

how are your nitrates?

Cut the old growth off, easiest method of removal. And if spreads, you can use anti-biotics to get rid of it, its a bacteria btw.
