I decided to return the bumble bee cichlids. Today, I brought home a pair of Blue Rams. Really neat little fish. I was wondering if this stocking list would work...

Tank> 37 gallon

2 Blue Rams (have)
2 spotted rafaels (have)
2 Kribensis (in another tank to be transfered)
1 small pleco (same as above)
A small schooling fish of some sort

I hope so!!! I have always wanted a cichlid community tank. I'll post a pic of my tank soon.

Oh yeah, looking good, both the tank and the fish!

Congratulations on the Rams--they are one of my favorites. The other favorite is ... kribs!! Those two pairs will work great in a 37-gal together. I've got them in my 38-gal now, and there are no problems at all. Be sure you have a flat rock somewhere for the Rams to breed on in case they get the urge, and a cave of some kind for the kribs (but you probably already know that ...)

Your plan sounds like a great combination of fish. The only one I'm not familiar with is the spotted raphael. Is that like a pleco? Peaceful?

It is one of the catfish species. Not exactly a sucker mouth. They are completely nocturnal too. They are also considered the taking catfish because they croak when they are out of the water or eating. I rarely ever get to see them. I did check my water parimeters just a bit ago and found my nitrites at 5 ppm, is this bad?? I did a partial water change afterwards. My ammonia was 0. I hope this goes down soon!!
