hello all. I think my mouse or sprained and/or twisted her leg last friday. it's her left back leg. she fell out of my hand on to the pavement, and landed right on that leg. she's walking with quite a limp, but seems to have improved. I don't really think it's broken, since there is no out-of-place feeling in her foot area, and I think she may have streced a ligament or something because when she fell, her leg was out straight, and she hit it right at the junction with her calf. her body is too small to tie a split of some sort or someting on, so I left it. does anyone have any advice as to what I should do? :help:

Ask your vet, i guess. Or wait and hope it heals correctly.
Im just so helpful aren't I? :D

that's what i would do, too.
i had a baby green iguana who broke his leg when he fell off my shoulder, and i called the vet. they said they could put a tiny little splint on him (they treated exotics, as well as cats and dogs). he was tiny, his legs were about the size of a mouse's.

A while ago my ~4 month old cat had a very pronounced limp on his front paw and he avoided putting too much pressure on it, but it went away completely after about 4 days, so my suggestion would be to wait a few days and then if the mouse is still limping without showing any or very little improvement take it to the vet. I know how it is, constantly worrying about what it could be.

If you wait and let it heal on its own, theres a chance it could heal in such a way as to cause permanent pain. Just a chance. If she seems like shes feeling better now, putting weight on it, I think shes ok. Otherwise, find an exotic animal vet.

the reason I got desparate to post here is the fact that there is no exotic animal vet for miles around where i live. I have an avian vet, but no vet rated for small animals.

Call the avian vet, see if they will see your mouse. They woud be used to working with small limbs and may be able to put your mind at ease.

I already did that, and they can't treat her.

wow, you are the funniest man on earth. if you don't have positive suggestions, don't post.
