I've always wondered why goldfish sometimes change color. I had a gorgeous champage colored fantail with black fins who, over the course of about a year, turned completely orange. I've only seen this happen with the champagne colored ones (sorry if this isn't the right color description, but it's the best way can think of to describe it) or ones with black markings.
What affects goldfish color?

It's totally normal in young fish, under two or three years old, before they mature and their color pattern settles down. happens to everyone.
