what are loaches and many more questions....?

sorry, i'm new to the bottom dwellers thread. 0=) loaches sound really cool but i've never actually seen one before. does anyone have any pix of some really cool looking loaches? and what do they primarily feed off of? last question- can i keep a few loaches in a 75 gal with cichlids?

^ Not Kuhli Loaches, they only get to be about 3-4 inches. But they shouldn't be kept in a cichlid tank. Instant live food.

Your topic here says your 75g is at the moment not being used. I see that your cichlids are mbunas in which case I would never suggest mixing loaches with them for the reasons stated here.

Synodontis. You need to get the 75g repaired first before you get the synos.

I'm not sure what species you would call "common". Which species do you like? Use the scientific name as many synos share the same common name. You can use the planetcatfish.com site to look for ones you like most. One or two should be fine. Synodontis eupterus? S. ocellifer? S. decorus?
