I have a emerald green cory catfish that is about a year old, he lives in a tank stocked with 3 neon tetras, plastic plants, 1 and 1/2 in thick gravel, and at a temp of 74F. He also lives in the tank with about 2 ghost shrimp, and the tank is a 10 gal, rectangular tank. The tank has been fully cycled for about three years until one day the fish had this growth.
The fish has developed some fuzzy white lumps along the lateral line near he tail, the bumps are fuzzy and white. He originally had a pimple like growth under his scales, maybe a scratch before it turned into a pimple, then the pimple turned into white fuzzy bumps that turned into about 5 other white fuzzy bumps on his side. I think that it is fungus and am trying to use Jungle Fungus clear to get rid of this infection, but Im not sure that it is fungus,from this description can anyone tell me what he might have and a way I might treat it?
Also the fish eats like a pig and is to my opinion very obese, it has a belly that is so round that neither of its front fins can touch the ground and therfore rocks from side to side when the current of the water flows by him. This may be a contributing factor but I am not sure, I just thought I should add this for further information on the fish.
